I have put together a brief list of what I consider are some of the best places to upload a reel in order to get it seen by peers and clients alike, as well as get constructive criticism - I include the motion exchange of course.
What do others feel are good places to get work and kudos? It would be good to put together a de

This is a repost from
a thread over at mograph.net. Some good stuff listed here, so I thought I'd share:
1- the link to your reel / portfolio should be one of the first things
that is seen on your cover letter.
2- make sure your link works.
3- in your cover letter, be brief, be to the point, and for the love of
all things holy do not gush about what a perf…

I've recently really started to get into the idea of working with new people, trying to meet new creative challenges and of course picking up some new techniques.
I have no concrete ideas as yet, but I'd love to hear from you if you have any plans of this nature - particularly something a bit longer than I'm used to producing and with a real narrative to get stuck into.
Comments and ideas to the usual addresses please!

1. Never engage in an argument or oppose the person who holds your cheque; he/she is probably more concerned about the outcome of your design than yourself.
永不与付款给你的人争论或对抗,他/她们肯定比你更关心设计后的结果。
2. Things are not design oriented; your design will first and foremost be used to deliver a message to the market for your client, before it is an item of personal artistic expression.

bpc
簡單說:
8bpc = 2的8次方 2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2=256
16bpc = 2的16次方 2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2=65536
32bpc = 2的32次方 2x2x............................................x2=4294967…

It's been nearly a week and my old blog pages are slowly metamorphosing into the portfolio of work the domain was originally meant for.
I successfully took the layered PSD used to create the images into AE and animated into a looping Flash header that, frankly, I'm pretty proud of.
Only web design content is available and the navigation is still be worked in, but things are beginning to take shape nicely.

Since I sometimes double as a political activist, I was wondering if any of you U.S. based artists have trouble getting affordable health insurance for yourselves and/or your families? If you are a freelancer and have health coverage, who do you use?
I personally support a family of four and my HC premiums are ridiculous and my insurance covers very little after deductibles, etc.

The IRS has been cracking down more and more on companies that hire 1099 workers. Being a 1099 worker myself, I am very curious about the subject. I've already been told by an agency that they no longer hire freelancers unless they are incorporated. I know others have been told the same.
I know what it comes down to is the IRS classification of an employee vs the real-world definition. Basically if you work on-site on someone else's gear under supervision, you're

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had any need of a post-production or mograph intern for this spring in Portland, Oregon?? It would be for credit and I'm not expecting to get paid, just looking for some industry experience.
I graduated in 2004 with a BFA but went back to school last year for a Multimedia Certificate. As far as program knowledge goes, I have experien…
